The 1 oz Den of Thieves Silver Bar is the first bar shaped design in the Silver Shield collection. The design is unique in so far as it shows a government building simply as is. There is no caricature, no additions, no replacements, but simply the building and the message "Not Federal No Reserves". The design is key to the message. In it the facade of the Federal Reserve building is shown exactly as it is, and the message clarifies exactly what it is, neither a part of the US government nor a place that holds reserves.
The obverse features a symmetrical view of the facade of the Federal Reserve building. It is interesting that the design is so symmetrical even though the institution is predicated on an imbalance in the monetary system. This one building is the centre of the US economic structure and even its very name is misleading. It is a private institution that has shareholders, member banks and all the trappings of a bank, but a power reserved constitutionally to Congress.
The reverse features three overlapping circle, each with hands in them depicting different manual labours. Two hands in the top circle are clasped in a handshake, typifying friendship. The bottom right circle portrays a hand and a wrench epitomizing skills. The last circle features a hand with a sapling to portray tangible wealth. Interestingly, the artist didn't choose coins or paper bills but rather real tangible things to portray wealth. The words "Silver Shield Friends Skills Wealth" are engraved above and the words "1 Troy Ounce 999 Pure Silver" are engraved below.
These bars are made of 999 pure silver and feature a simple but powerful design by Heidi Wastweet.
In multiples of 20 silver bar will ship in a tube.
