The Spider and web is the second coin featuring Canada's animal architects.
This coin was designed by Canadian artist Yves Berube and the reverse features an overhead view of a painted spider on an intricate and beautifully symmetric web.
The spider is off to one side eagerly anticipating its prey. It also features the words "3 Dollars 2014 Canada".
The obverse displays the signature Susanna Blunt effigy of Queen Elizabeth II and the words "Elizabeth II D.G. Regina".
It is limited to a mintage of 10,000.
