The Royal Canadian mint has commemorated the 2010 winter Olympic games, held in Vancouver, British Colombia, with this 1 oz 99.99 pure gold coin. Vancouver was the third Canadian city to host the Olympic games, after Montreal which hosted the summer Olympics in 1976 and Calgary which held the 1988 winter Olympics.

Depicted on the reverse side is Canada’s national symbol, the Maple leaf with the 2010 Unique Olympic logo, “llanaaq the Inukshuk” integrated into the image. The five Olympic rings are displayed below, with the addition of the host city, “Vancouver 2010”.

This coin’s obverse displays Susanna Blunt’s effigy of Queen Elizabeth II with great detail. The Queen’s title, the coin’s year of issue, and 50 dollar denominational value also accompany the effigy.

The 2010 winter Olympics were golden for Canada, as they topped all nations for gold medal counts with 13, for the first time. Diversify your holdings with this significant 1 oz 2008 Gold Maple Leaf Olympic privy Gold coin today!
