The grizzly bear is an endangered subspecies of the brown bear. There are two subspecies of the brown bear in North America: Kodiak bears and grizzly bears. Kodiak bears are exclusive to the coastal islands of the Kodiak archipelago, and grizzlies are found everywhere else on the continent. The grizzly bear colour ranges from very light blondish to dark brown. They differ from black bears by having a dish-like face, short round ears, and a large hump on their backs.

These silver coins were limited to a mintage of one million coins. The reverse design of 2011 "Grizzly" silver bullion coin is the work of Senior Mint Engraver William Woodruff and its obverse features the Susanna Blunt effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

The ANACS (American Numismatic Association Certification Service) uses the internationally recognized Sheldon grading scale, which ranges from 1 to 70 to grade coin condition. The MS-70 (which stands for Mint State with a 70 grade) is the highest score a coin may achieve. It’s alternatively referred to as Perfect Uncirculated.

These coins are in mint condition without tarnish or milk spots as usually noticed on many other 1 oz 2011 Canadian Grizzly Bear Silver Coins.
