As the Royal Canadian Mint focuses attention on commemorating the reign of Queen Elizabeth II (1952-2022), the Mint will not be issuing any 2023-dated Canadian circulation coins featuring both the traditional reverse designs and an obverse featuring Queen Elizabeth II. Instead, the RCM struck a limited collector’s edition for each of the six Canadian coin denominations ($2, $1, 50¢, 25¢, 10¢, 5¢), and you get one of each in this special set.

Each coin’s obverse is double-dated (“1952-2022”) to commemorate the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. It is also marked by four pearls symbolizing the four effigies that have graced Canadian coins during that time.
