The 5 kg fine silver coin’s reverse features a large-scale reproduction of G. E. Kruger Gray’s iconic maple leaf twig design, as seen on Canadian one-cent circulation coins issued from 1937 to 2012 (with the exception of 1967). The nature-inspired image features two upright, five-lobed maple leaves attached to a small twig. To commemorate the 10TH anniversary of Canada’s last penny, a life-sized reproduction of the 2012 one-cent coin design forms the number “0” in the year “2022”. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
PACKAGING
Housed in a circular capsule, each coin comes in an elegant burled-wood case bearing the Royal Canadian Mint logo and wordmark. The case provides several options for highlighting and displaying your exquisite collectible: you can leave the coin inside and view it through the lid’s round acrylic window, which is sized to the coin’s dimensions; or you can remove the insert, which doubles as a custom frame. The 8x8-inch certificate booklet is housed beneath the display compartment, in a spring-loaded drawer lined with velvet-like flocking.
