These gold coins celebrate the U.S. Mints Saint-Gaudens coin that was ever so popular from 1907 to 1933 with the outlawing of privately owned gold. The standing liberty is portrayed in detail near a cliff edge holding the torch in her right hand, and an olive branch in her left. The magnificent round is surrounded by stars representing the different states with sun rays in the background.

The obverse of each coin features the ‘Liberty’ version of the Lady Liberty bust, which has undergone numerous redesigns throughout the Double Eagles run; she is shown wearing a diadem with the word, Liberty’ on it, with her curled, shoulder-length hair meticulously rendered by the artist. The bust is surrounded by 13 stars, with the year of issue appearing below on the obverse.
